Super stoked today to announce that we will be reissuing the hard-to-find cassette EP Centre of their World from Hobart, Tasmania outfit Treehouse this April. After 2014′s incredible Interzone LP via the Vacant Valley label, and limited releases since, it is with huge excitement that we piece together these seven tracks of Tasmanian devotional-punk (?!) w/ some killer artwork by Cameron McRae on a 12″ record. These guys are favourites of ours and an Aussie band to watch!
Melbourne is an incestuous town. Bands share members, record in home-made studios, and play to packed venues and backyards alike. Lower Plenty meet rarely, in the downtime between tours or jobs, write and record on the spot, and call it quits for another year.
The upcoming album Sister Sister – the band’s fourth – was recorded in a kitchen in Collingwood. It was freezing cold and grey outside, the band rugged up against another Melbourne winter, seated in a circle, each exploring a musical idea of another, imbuing the record with a quality of restlessness and shared warmth.
“All Four Seasons” is the second single from the sophomore record by trans-continental pop group ‘Free Time’. Fronted by Dion Nania (Panel of Judges), who bounces between homes in NYC and Melbourne as briefly as his songs jump from melodies of sweet sadness to carefree exuberance. The current Australian lineup of the band includes members of Twerps, Totally Mild and Terrible Truths.
Listen to all four seasons below and stay tuned details on the full record in the coming months.
